Sr. Automation Tester THE BURGESS GROUP Alexandria VA Top Skills: - 1) Minimum 3-5 years QA testing experience, building automation test plans, running scripts, using defect tracking tools, and testing in different environments, (Web vs Windows). Must have experience using TestComplete (this is a similar tool such as Selenium or QTP). - 2) Experience creating data driven/keyword scripts using JavaScript, C#, C++, or Visual Basic. - 3) Experience building test plans to test the User Interface of an application. - 4) Strong skills using connection strings to pull from the database (connect the software to the data). Must be able to create checkpoints in the scripts. - 5) Must be able to create checkpoints in the automated scripts - 6) Actionable knowledge of Variables and Objects, when creating the automated script. - 7) Experience in debugging of the automated script - 8) Solid Excel skills for automated results and reporting. - 9) Experience testing within agile framework. Job Description: Our client is looking for an experienced Quality Engineer/Tester to test the functionality of a web services Application. This individual will be the only Automation Tester on the entire team of 9, and will work mostly Independently. The Manager of the group will provide you with very specific instructions for automating test Scripts. Candidates must have recent experience using TestComplete (a Smart Bear product) as their Software testing tool. The Tester will create data driven test scripts and have strong enough skills to debug the Scripts. Candidates will write SQL queries to pull information from the database and in Excel. The Tester will also create checkpoints in the script and know how to extract data via the connection string from the database. To be successful in this environment, candidates will have basic coding skills in C#, JavaScript, or Visual Basic (To create the scripts). The candidate must also be able to work independently in a dynamic work environment. It will not always be cookie-cutter. You will not be responsible for load or performance testing.
