Essential Functions and Unique Duties
This position will interface and implement new processes and code with current and newly evolving technologies with web-based software development tools to further enhance the functionality of our Hyperion application, enterprise applications and any applications they integrate with.The incumbent will serve as a subject matter expert and will provide leadership and technical guidance to third tier support. They will work with a high level of independence and will provide technical guidance to the senior level and below technical analysts and integrators in this department. Provide third-tier, 24 hour support for a major application or technology, including quick problem resolution to production problems; Update and maintain information unique to the assigned application to ensure consistency with requirements; Serve as a technical liaison with vendors, outside contractors, or Client IT staff by providing expertise on assigned application or technology; Participate in the design and integration of IT solutions with assigned application, technology, or system and provide guidance on the optimal approach; Lead the implementation of enhancements or upgrades to ensure a smooth transition; Develop and implement informal and formal training activities to extend expertise to technical colleagues and/or customers; Keep abreast of emerging technologies or new applications that could have an impact on the assigned technology or application; and Assist management, customer, and other IT staff in planning for future enhancements, applications, and/or upgrades to assigned application or technology.Perform software analysis/development for current and future system requirements of the Hyperion application and enterprise applications using current programming languages.This position will design and direct coding assignments, code complex objects, and test the programs needed to provide support for the Hyperion application and related assignments.Provide work leadership on the project planning, time schedules, design, development, support, analysis, creation, and testing of integration programs that are needed. This entails writing specifications, leading development efforts, performing complex development tasks, developing test criteria, and converting and/or updating data as requested by our customers.Serve as a technical subject matter expert who plays a key leadership role for development teams that need to interact with enterprise systems and Hyperion application.Work with customers to define information requirements for potential applications and identify available tools and technologies to create solutions. Work with customers to obtain the maximum level of knowledge of the Hyperion application\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s functionality in order to maximize that functionality.Provide support, troubleshooting and resolution of customer issues and problem activities. This entails leading customers through the process of testing and verifying the integrity and accuracy of their application data.Create project management related charters, identify project related tasks, develop project plans, track and maintain plans.Provide leadership and support for installation, upgrade and new releases of enterprise systems and to any other auxiliary.Develop or acquire, test, evaluate and implement software for future department use. Provide lead and ongoing support for systems in production and test environments.Create documentation and help train other technical resources on the use of Hyperion and other enterprise applications. Ensure optimal use of supported functionality. QualificationsKnowledge of IT tools and technologies typically acquired through several years of experience in systems integration assignments; Recognized expertise in the assigned application or technology; Skill in solving complex problems quickly; Skill in oral and written communication; and Ability to work effectively with customers, technical staff, and vendors to resolve problems. Demonstrated expertise in the assigned application or technology typically acquired through several years of direct experience in the application or technology; Recognized expertise in trouble-shooting and problem resolution; Demonstrated ability to work effectively with customers, vendors, and technical staff to resolve problems and assist in the design of integrated applications.Represented Position MessageThis position must be filled pursuant to the provisions of a collective bargaining agreement, and as such may be filled by a qualified bargaining unit member, should one apply.Desired Skills and ExperienceAdvance knowledge and experience of the Hyperion application and its modules. Advance skills in Essbase, MaxL scripts. Advanced skill in SQL is preferred. Advanced skills in PHP, Perl, and current web libraries such as jQuery, JavaScript, MySQL (or other RDBMS), HTML5, JAVA, Python is preferred. Advanced knowledge of LAMP architecture preferred. Some knowledge of code repositories (SVN, CVS or GIT) is preferred. Proficient in the use of multiple IT software development tools and associated technologies including a wide variety of programming languages, operating systems and hardware configurations. Considerable experience and ability to conduct software development on multiple distributed platforms. Some experience with database Integration. Experience with LDAP or Active Directory preferred.
