SAS Analytics Developer Location: Bridgeport, CT

Summary:Responsible for writing SAS Base programs as part of small development teamworking on a custom database marketing application. Education/Experience:Bachelor's degree in computer science or relevant field - preferred. 5+ yearsexperience required. Skills and Competencies: Verbal and written communicationskills, problem solving skills, data requirements analysis and data mappingskills, customer service and interpersonal skills. Must have a strong command ofthe English language, written and oral. Expert ability to work independentlyand manage ones time. Strong teamplayer with ability to collaborate on various technical design and developmentapproaches. Proven experience with iterative and/or Agile developmenttechniques . Expert knowledge of the full software development lifecycle: frombusiness/systems analysis, through requirements gathering and functionalspecification authoring, to development, testing and delivery. Expert abilityto troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to resolve issue.Expert knowledge of relational database development, client-server applicationsand base SAS. Knowledge of computer development software, such as SAS Base,Oracle SQL, SAS macros, SAS/ODS, SAS/ACCESS, SAS PROC SQL, etc. Major JobDuties and Responsibilities: Perform assigned development and data analysistasks, working with SAS Base, Oracle SQL, SAS macros, SAS/ODS, etc., as part ofsmall team working on a custom database marketing application. Project needssomeone who progresses through the learning curve quickly and is able tounderstand business concepts as well as have a mastery of the development toolsand techniques being used. Experience with remote submit of SAS jobs is a must,along with knowledge of SQL querying techniques for optimum performance.Experience with custom applications using SAS data sets for marketing, campaignmanagement, list selection, etc. is highly preferred. Development tasks willinvolve creation of reports and output files as well as database queryingthrough PROC SQL. Understanding of importance of 'clean' data to support listselection rules is important.
