Quality Assurance Analyst - Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors. Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criterion for obtaining results. May provide work leadership by assigning work and resolving problems. Responsibilities Develop clear, accurate and timely Test Approaches, Test Plans and Release Findings according to department standards. Design and generate automated test scripts using various automated tools that align to business requirements, functional specifications, release notes, use cases and/or user stories. Analyze vendor release notes to understand functional changes, translate those changes into test cases or test scenarios. Write test cases or test scenarios that align to business requirements, functional specifications, release notes, use cases and/or user stories that may or may not cross application boundaries. Test business applications following detailed test cases and scripts in an effort to identify software defects through manual or automated tests. Analyze complex defects within and across application boundaries. Report and track defects to resolution. Provide clear and concise status back to project team and department management. Manages testing efforts on multiple concurrent projects. Ensure effective and continuous communication (both written and oral) takes place between QA and other departments at Umpqua Bank. Ensure accurate, timely and tested releases are implemented into the production environment. Develop an in-depth understanding of Umpqua business applications, system components and databases and the relationship between applications and systems. Provide input on testing methods, processes, tools and systems. May be asked to coach, mentor, or train others and teach coursework as subject matter expert. Responsible for other duties as assigned. Job Qualifications and Requirements Bachelors degree or relevant equivalent work experience Financial Services or banking experience Generally 5 years Software Quality Assurance experience using automated testing tools through test case creation to execution Ability to translate complex business requirements and/or functional specifications into meaningful and effective test cases. Thorough knowledge of test planning and test case design for all types of testing including functionality, usability, regression, system integration and end-to-end Ability to work in a team and autonomously as needed Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to work on multiple takes concurrently Ability to quickly learn new business applications Ability to train and present to small and large audiences or has the interest in learning to train and present.
