Roles And Responsibilities
Develop and maintain T-SQL queries in SSMS for ETL and QA.
Develop and maintain ETL packages in SSIS to implement business requirements
Develop and maintain Cubes in SSAS for business access.
Participate in requirements gathering, design and ETL workflow of data model and cube development.
Validate data quality and integrity using SQL tools and queries
Work with BI co-workers in understanding data sources, models and uses
Complete assigned projects with minor assistance from the senior SQL developer(s)
Participate in on-call support rotations
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Knowledge of and experience with data warehousing concepts, practices, and procedures
Ability to document data validation and discovery information about DW data, schema, and processes
Ability to commit oneself to learning data warehouse concepts, practices, and procedures
Good communication and organizational skills
Ability to identify and correct bottlenecks in data transformation
Ability to work and communicate technically with database administrators, IT system engineers, and programmers
Ability to work closely with business analyst(s) to define data cleaning and business integration rules
Ability to process requests, determine appropriate solutions and complete requests in a timely fashion
Desire to understand requested goals and ability to develop processes, objects, and data to meet requirements
Education And Experience
Bachelors degree in computer programming, business, or equivalent experience
Minimum one year experience working in business intelligence, application and/or database programming
Experience with Microsoft T-SQL, Integration Services (SSIS) and Analysis Services (SSAS)
Experience with logical and physical data models and Entity-Relationship Diagrams (ERD)
Experience with DW concepts for data acquisition, movement, and persistence
Experience with Windows and SQL server environments
Experience with .Net Framework and C# is a plus
