Overview:

application development methodologies. Applies thought leadership in the areas of application modernization, technology advancement, and application lifecycle
management. Provides highly technical consulting and leadership for software design, best practices, and development technologies. Advises application managers on technical solutions and the technical talent of development teams. All job duties and responsibilities must be carried out in compliance with
applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the technical architectures and infrastructure planning areas as required regarding:

1. Appropriate infrastructure design considerations for Information Services applications
2. Transactional systems consumption of BI information
3. Application design adherence to the BI Architecture guidelines and best practices

• Designed analytical solutions and identifies design patters with emphasis on reuse, scalability, performance, availability, and security

• Understands the enterprise applications architecture design and development best practices for analytical applications. Applies these practices to
  application solutions and evangelizes them with the development teams.

• Acts as a strategic thinker, thought leader, internal consultant, advocate, mentor, and change agent for application development teams.

• Works closely with the enterprise architecture area on design methodologies, design reviews, and defining best practices. Receives technical mentoring from the enterprise architecture area on how to apply strategic thinking and plan for the future state.

• Works with application managers to balance rapid delivery of business solutions with sound technical solutions. Advises application managers on development team member competencies, skills, and overall productivity.

• Assists with the technical evaluation of packaged business solutions and designs any required custom system integrations.
• Develop and report on key metrics that enable the application areas to determine the health of their applications in regards to technology advancement and performance.

• Manages technology advancement of application dependent platforms, tools, and services. Recommends application modernization opportunities and application lifecycle management efficiencies.

• Assists with tier 2 application production issues and challenging issues in any phase of the development lifecycle.

Qualifications:

• Understanding of analytical application design methodologies and how to apply them to complex multi-tier systems.

• Knowledge of software development best practices.

• Knowledge of standard ETL and reporting techniques and tools used (Informatica / Cognos).

• Bachelor\'s Degree in Information Technology/Computer Science.

• 7 to 10 years of experience in applications development, and 3 years of relevant architecture experience.

• Solid business intelligence (reporting and ETL) development experience.

• Experience with analytical apps that handle large volumes of data.

• Experience with Cognos and/or Informatica and/or Microsoft SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS preferred.

• Experience with technical leadership through a development effort including collaboration with IT and business areas preferred.

• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication and the ability to communicate with audiences at varying technical levels.
