The Senior Manager, Internal Audit is responsible for
organizing and overseeing internal audits in accordance with the annual audit
plan, often managing a team of auditors. Responsibilities include: Managing
teams of internal audit professionals in the planning and execution of
financial, operational or IT audits. Managing the completion of audit
assignments. Ensures that audit assignments are completed with a high level of
quality and within established time constraints. Evaluating audit findings,
prepares audit reports and makes recommendations to senior management about how
the organizations financial, operational, and managerial processes and systems
could be improved. Conducting walkthroughs and interviews to evaluate design of
new internal controls or continued effectiveness of existing controls.
Coaching, mentoring and developing staff and assist in their career
development. Preparing audit work papers to document results of testing and participate
in preparation of presentations to management that briefly and effectively
discuss control issues, communicate potential impacts, and recommend corrective
actions or improvements in the efficiency/effectiveness of control activities
or operations. Demonstrating a confident and effective communication style,
both written and spoken, that establishes credibility and facilitates clear
understanding of audit issues and influences change where appropriate.
Assisting on special projects including but not limited to due diligence
examinations, or other assignments requiring a more thorough understanding of
complex financial issues. Acting as the department interface with senior
management of business units and other corporate departments. Involved in developing
and/or reviewing the annual audit engagement plan. Desired Skills and
Experience SKILLS REQUIRED: Excellent project management skills with the focus
on timely completion of tasks and the ability to identify and assess a changing
array of risks. Knowledge of data extraction and analysis techniques, including
SAP and analysis tools such as ACL or Microsoft Excel is highly desirable.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: A minimum of a BS/BA in finance, engineering or accounting
is required. Five or more years experience in a financial role, with external
or internal audit experience a strong plus. Experience auditing in a
manufacturing environment is preferred. MBA or CPA and prior Big 4 experience a
plus. Travel required ~40% to 50%, will include international travel.
