Department/Area Function: 


The Financial Systems Administration area is responsible for the governance, maintenance and enhancement of THE COMPANY’s financial applications.


Position Summary:


The HFM System Administrator role will serve as the primary point of contact, system advocate, and subject matter expert for the Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) and Hyperion Close Manager (HCM) systems implemented at THE COMPANY. This includes the maintenance, governance, testing, troubleshooting, and process administration functions required to support the enterprise on a daily basis. The position is expected to build and maintain effective working relationships with the Financial Reporting and FP&A teams to which they support, along with the internal and external IT resources supporting the systems in use. In addition to the daily administrative duties associated with this role, this position is also responsible for identifying enhancement opportunities to the Hyperion suite as implemented, and proactively taking the steps necessary to see them through to Production use following the complete SILC methodology in-place at THE COMPANY.


Principal Responsibilities: 


 


Production System Support



  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the HFM and Hyperion Close Manager (HCM) applications.

  • Support the Financial Reporting and FP&A teams running the Monthly, Quarterly and Year-End Close processes in HFM/HCM, run allocation processing in HPCM, and run interfaces for the Close using FDMEE.

  • Backup the Hyperion Planning Administrator in support of the FP&A team running the Budget, Latest Estimate, and Long-Range Forecast processes (cross-training to be provided).

  • Support the annual audit processes - both internal and external audits.

  • Troubleshoot HFM/HCM/SmartView issues and coordinate issue resolution with Development, Infrastructure, and the external hosting vendor (Oracle Managed Cloud Services) using documented procedures.

  • Ensure business-as-usual operation of the Production environment on a daily basis, escalating issues to Oracle Managed Cloud Services when necessary.


 


Systems Administration



  • Setup and maintain user access within Shared Services for HFM and HCM. This includes creating and provisioning of user groups, filters and security profiles in alignment with the needs of the business.

  • Create/modify, test and promote business rules/calc scripts in HFM to meet the needs of the business.

  • Create/modify, test and promote HFM reports/scripts/data forms to meet the needs of the business.

  • Create/modify workflow rules, tasks, parameters, integration types, templates, schedules, alerts, frequencies/periods, and system settings in HCM to meet the needs of the business.

  • Manage and enhance application control procedures for HFM/HCM.

  • Manage migrations and promotion of all changes and upgrades to HFM/HCM and ensure compliance with change management policies and SILC best practices.

  • Manage environment migrations with the external hosting vendor, Oracle Managed Cloud Services.

  • Assist with troubleshooting hardware and infrastructure issues and optimization of system performance.

  • Coordinate and administer Disaster Recovery testing for the HFM/HCM applications annually.

  • Update the departmental procedures and process maps for HFM and HCM annually.

  • Assist with the administration of users in the Treasury banking applications.

  • Cross-train with other members of the Financial Systems Administration team to perform basic admin tasks in MetraNet billing application and JDE ERP application to ensure business continuity.


 


Business Analysis and Project Support



  • Is the lead system advocate and subject matter expert (SME) for the HFM and HCM applications at THE COMPANY.

  • Identify and document opportunities for improvement within the HFM/HCM suite in alignment with the needs of the business and proactively take the steps necessary to setup, test and deploy systemic improvements in alignment with SILC best-practices.

  • Initiate and manage requests for HFM/HCM enhancements to meet the changing needs of the business. This includes hosting discovery meetings with business and technical staff, defining/documenting requirements, tracking development, performing/coordinating user acceptance testing, and promoting to Production.

  • Remain current on the latest HFM/HCM technology and release notes in anticipation of future business needs and/or to improve productivity and departmental capabilities.

  • Provide application knowledge, support, and tips to users.

  • Participate in cross-functional projects representing Finance as an SME for the HFM/HCM suite.

  • Coordinate IT activities with Hyperion users, ADM, Enterprise Infrastructure, Oracle product support, and Oracle Managed Cloud Services with respect to system patching, upgrades, outages, troubleshooting, code promotion, etc.

  • Is a proactive risk manager for the HFM/HCM systems and landscape implemented at THE COMPANY.


Experience:



  • Minimum 5 years of experience supporting and enhancing HFM and HCM applications in a Production setting.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience using HFM and HCM to administer the period-end close in a Production setting.


Knowledge and Skills Required:



  • 5+ years HFM and HCM administration experience. Very strong preference for experience administering v11.1+.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Excellent project planning and resource coordination experience.

  • Excellent documentation skills required.

  • Must be comfortable interacting with management of all levels.

  • Able to participate in project work as both a SME and performer.

  • Microsoft Office expertise, especially with Excel.

  • Strong multi-tasking and time management skills.

  • Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity planning experience.

  • Experience with system governance to include both establishing policy and enforcing.

  • Proficient in knowledge and practice of SILC methodology.

Education, Training &/or Certification:



  • Bachelor’s degree required in MIS, Accounting, Computer Science or a related field. 


Advanced degree and/or IT certification a plus.
