MongoDB Data Engineer

We are seeking a skilled MongoDB Engineer / Data Engineer with hands-on experience in MongoDB Atlas Change Streams to design, implement, and optimize real-time data processing solutions for a healthcare client. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in database architecture, event-driven systems, data pipelines, cloud platforms, and healthcare data environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain MongoDB databases and collections for performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Implement and manage MongoDB Atlas Change Streams for real-time data streaming and event-driven architectures.
• Build and maintain data pipelines for streaming healthcare data across multiple systems.
• Ensure data integrity, consistency, high availability, and reliability of database environments.
• Optimize queries, indexing strategies, and overall database performance.
• Collaborate with application developers, data engineers, and architects to integrate MongoDB solutions.
• Monitor database performance and troubleshoot production issues.
• Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare data regulations and security best practices.
• Document database architecture, configurations, processes, and operational procedures.

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of production experience with MongoDB.
• Strong hands-on experience with MongoDB Atlas and Change Streams.
• Experience building real-time data streaming or event-driven systems.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Java, or Node.js.
• Strong understanding of data modeling, indexing, query optimization, and performance tuning.
• Experience with REST APIs and microservices architecture.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Experience working with healthcare data environments and security/compliance requirements is preferred.
