Position Overview

The client is seeking two experienced Systems Administrators to support a secure, stable, and high-performing hybrid IT environment. This is a hands-on infrastructure support role focused on Windows Server administration, Microsoft 365 support, patching, monitoring, and operational maintenance across on-premises and cloud platforms.

The Systems Administrator will work closely with Infrastructure & Operations leadership and collaborate with Network Engineering, Security, End User Services, and Application teams.

Top Requirements

  • Strong hands-on experience administering Windows Server environments
  • Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP
  • Experience supporting Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, Entra ID/Azure AD)
  • Experience with patch management, vulnerability remediation, and system maintenance
  • Tier 2/3 infrastructure support experience with troubleshooting and incident response
  • Experience working in hybrid environments (on-premises and Azure/cloud)

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Administration

  • Administer Windows Server environments (on-premises and cloud)
  • Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP
  • Support Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online and Entra ID/Azure AD
  • Maintain system performance, availability, and configuration

Patch Management & Vulnerability Remediation

  • Execute structured patching for servers and infrastructure systems
  • Validate patches prior to deployment
  • Track patch compliance and remediation status
  • Support vulnerability remediation efforts

Security & Compliance Support

  • Implement security controls and support MFA initiatives
  • Assist with system hardening, logging, and monitoring
  • Support audits and compliance activities

Monitoring & Incident Response

  • Monitor infrastructure systems and respond to alerts
  • Provide Tier 2/3 support for infrastructure incidents
  • Participate in incident response and root cause analysis

Backup & Disaster Recovery

  • Administer backup and recovery solutions
  • Perform backup and restore testing
  • Support disaster recovery objectives (RTO/RPO)

Change Management & Operations

  • Follow established change management procedures
  • Execute infrastructure changes in a controlled environment
  • Participate in CAB/governance processes

Required Qualifications

  • Experience administering Windows Server environments
  • Strong Active Directory and Group Policy knowledge
  • Microsoft 365 administration experience
  • Experience with patch management and system maintenance
  • Familiarity with backup and recovery solutions
  • Basic networking knowledge

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in government or regulated environments
  • Experience with hybrid infrastructure and Azure
  • Familiarity with NIST or similar security frameworks
  • VMware or Hyper-V experience
  • Exposure to SIEM, monitoring, or endpoint management tools
