Job Description:

General Purpose of the Position:

We are seeking Sales Director for a small mfg facility in Northeast Tennessee to drive revenue growth within our flexible packaging division. You will focus on selling high-definition rotogravure printing solutions for both paper and plastic film substrates. This role requires the ability to learn technical knowledge of gravure cylinders, ink systems, and substrate behaviors to align our manufacturing capabilities with client packaging needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • New Business Development: Identify and secure new enterprise accounts in the food, confectionery, beverage, pet food can labels, and consumer goods sectors.
  • Technical Consultation: Guide clients on choosing the correct substrates, including PET, BOPP, PE, and specialized paper grades.
  • Value-Based Selling: Demonstrate the cost-efficiency and print-quality advantages of rotogravure for long-run packaging projects.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal R&D, pre-press, and production teams to ensure accurate cylinder engraving and color matching.
  • Account Management: Serve as the primary point of contact through the ordering cycle. Also includes:
    • Preparing quotes, contracts and RFP/RFI responses
    • Forecasting/Budgeting for all accounts according to headquarters schedule
    • Meeting comments for monthly sales communications
    • Working collaboratively with the local team to ensure the customer receives the highest level of customer satisfaction
  • Market Intelligence: Monitor industry trends regarding sustainable films, barrier properties, and competitive pricing strategies.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Industry Experience: Minimum 1-2 years of sales or technical service experience
  • Technical Expertise: Understanding and/or willingness to learn the rotogravure printing process, ink chemistry, and lamination techniques.
  • Proven Track Record: Demonstrated ability to manage long B2B sales cycles and close high-volume manufacturing contracts.
  • High Drive and Motivation: Eagerness to learn our current customer’s business and high motivation to find new customers for revenue growth
  • Team Player: Ability to collaborate with manufacturing facilities to meet the highest level of customer satisfaction
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in Packaging Science, Graphic Communications, Business, or a related field is preferred.
  • Computer Equipment and Software Requirements: Proficient in CRM, MS Office software, i.e. Powerpoint, Excel, Word, etc
  • Travel: Willingness to travel up to 50% to visit client manufacturing facilities and attend press checks. Willingness to travel internationally as well as domestically
