Hybrid role in Golden Valley, Minnesota (strictly local + local project experience required)
12-month contract-to-hire, likely client-facing with strong stakeholder interaction
Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Business Systems Analyst (EApps) with strong domain expertise in the Annuity and Life Insurance industry. The ideal candidate will work closely with Product Owners, business teams, and development teams to analyze requirements, support insurance product implementations, and enhance enterprise insurance applications. The candidate should possess excellent communication skills, strong analytical abilities, and experience working in Agile environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze business requirements and create detailed user stories for new product implementations and system enhancements
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Annuity and Life Insurance products and business rules
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Developers, QA teams, and business stakeholders
- Support compliance-related changes and determine system/process impacts
- Translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
- Participate actively in Agile ceremonies and project discussions
- Identify process improvements and recommend system enhancements
- Work on insurance order entry and administration systems
- Ensure solutions align with business goals and regulatory requirements
Required Skills & Experience:
- 4+ years of Business Systems Analysis experience in Annuity and Life Insurance domain
- Strong experience gathering requirements and writing user stories
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with some exposure to Waterfall methodology
- Hands-on experience with:
- DTCC
- ACORD Standards
- Firelight
- AN4
- Affirm
- Other Insurance Application Order Entry Systems
- Strong understanding of Insurance Administration Systems
- Knowledge of insurance product features and mechanics
- Experience with:
- XML
- JSON
- Java concepts
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Education Requirement:
- Bachelor’s Degree in:
- Computer Science
- Information Systems
- Business Administration
- Related field
- Equivalent work experience may also be considered
Preferred/Additional Skills:
- Knowledge of ACORD standards
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including VBA
- Experience supporting enterprise insurance platforms
- Strong problem-solving and analytical mindset
