Location: Remote (Candidates near Newport Beach, CA preferred)
Work Model: Remote with occasional travel for client meetings

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Data Architect with deep expertise in the Insurance domain and ACORD standards to design and deliver scalable, secure, and high-quality data solutions. The ideal candidate will lead the architecture of enterprise data platforms, ensuring alignment with ACORD data models and enabling business-driven insights and digital transformation.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement enterprise data architecture for insurance platforms
  • Develop and maintain data models aligned with ACORD standards (logical & physical)
  • Define data integration, data flow, and data governance frameworks
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and engineering teams to translate business needs into scalable data solutions
  • Lead the design of data lakes, data warehouses, and real-time data pipelines
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, security, and compliance across systems
  • Provide guidance on data architecture best practices, standards, and tools
  • Evaluate and recommend modern data technologies (cloud, big data, ETL/ELT tools)
  • Support data migration, transformation, and modernization initiatives
  • Participate in architecture reviews and ensure adherence to enterprise standards
  • Travel occasionally for client meetings and architectural discussions

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 10+ years of IT experience with strong focus on Data Architecture
  • Proven experience in the Insurance domain (P&C or Life Insurance preferred)
  • Hands-on expertise with ACORD data standards, schemas, and messaging frameworks
  • Strong experience in data modeling (conceptual, logical, physical)
  • Experience with data warehousing, ETL/ELT, and data integration tools
  • Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Strong knowledge of SQL, NoSQL, and big data technologies
  • Experience with data governance, metadata management, and data quality frameworks
  • Excellent stakeholder communication and leadership skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with insurance data platforms or digital transformation programs
  • Knowledge of API-driven architecture and microservices
  • Familiarity with tools like Snowflake, Redshift, Databricks, Informatica, or Talend
  • Certifications in cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP) or data architecture
  • Exposure to AI/ML data pipelines
