Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Information Security Architect with a strong background in cloud security and enterprise architecture. The candidate will lead the design and implementation of secure architectures across cloud-native, microservices, and AI-enabled systems while ensuring compliance with state and federal security frameworks.

The role involves analysing business requirements, identifying security risks, and designing secure, scalable solutions aligned with organizational goals. The architect will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance system security, implement best practices, and support modernization initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement secure-by-default architectures
• Conduct risk analysis and cost-benefit analysis
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and define requirements
• Ensure compliance with state and federal security frameworks
• Lead cloud security and enterprise security initiatives
• Develop and maintain security architecture standards and policies

Required Experience:

• Minimum 16+ years of IT experience in Information Security & Systems Architecture
• Proven experience designing secure cloud-native architectures (AWS preferred)
• Strong knowledge of Texas Cybersecurity Framework (TCF) and NIST 800-53
• Expertise in Identity & Access Management (IAM) and Zero Trust Architecture
• Experience in threat modelling for complex systems
• Experience securing microservices, APIs, and containerized environments
• Hands-on experience with Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) tools
• Experience integrating security into DevSecOps pipelines
• Familiarity with AI/LLM security and data pipelines
• Experience in data protection strategies (PII, PHI, sensitive data)
• Ability to present risk assessments to executive leadership
• Experience drafting enterprise security policies & architecture standards

Certifications:

• CISSP – Mandatory
• CISM – Mandatory
• AWS Certified Security Engineer – Preferred

• Only LOCAL candidates to Austin, TX will be considered
