Electromechanical Technician

Job Description:

Responsibilities: •Assemble electronic components, subassemblies, and systems. •Test and calibrate electronic assemblies using test equipment and standardized procedures. •Perform final inspection and prepare electronic products prior to shipment to customers worldwide. •Test, debug, and repair products returned products to meet customer needs. •Work closely with Operations, Engineering, Sales, and R&D teams to ensure seamless production and customer satisfaction. •Ensure that work area and equipment are maintained in a clean, safe, and orderly condition and established company policies and procedures are adhered to. •Keep workstation, tools, and equipment in a neat and orderly manner. •Understand and comply with all company safety rules and regulations. •Perform other related duties as assigned or as required. Minimum Qualifications: •Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering, Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Technology, or equivalent military training / experience. •2+ years’ electronic/manufacturing technician experience. •2+ years’ experience with hand assembly / soldering and component replacement on surface mount and through-hole PCBs. •2+ years’ experience troubleshooting and repairing electronic assemblies. •Experience in diagnosing and repairing faults in analog and digital PCBAs using multimeters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other diagnostic tools. •Experience reading and interpreting schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals. •Experience with surface-mount and through-hole soldering and desoldering. •Experience using software-based diagnostic tools and firmware flashing utilities. •Due to the nature of UEI’s programs and products, applicants must have the legal right to work in the U.S. and additionally must be legally authorized to access export-controlled information and source code. Desired Qualifications: •Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics. •Ability to use standard bench test equipment (DMM, Scope, etc.). •Familiarity with IPC standards (e.g., IPC-A-610, IPC-1711/7721) for PCB inspection rework. •Demonstrated ability to isolate component-level failures and perform corrective actions. •Good verbal communications skills with the ability to interact with members of Operations, Sales & Marketing, Hardware and Software Engineers, and R&D Management team.
