Job Title: Surface Grinder

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Surface Grinder to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for producing precision components used in progressive stamping dies and spare parts across industries such as automotive and appliances. Success in this position requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality, safety, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, prioritize, and prepare work by analyzing tasks and determining the proper sequence of operations
• Read and interpret blueprints and job orders to understand specifications, materials, quantities, and deadlines
• Set up and operate surface grinding machines and related equipment
• Select appropriate grinding wheels, speeds, and feed rates based on material properties and job requirements
• Measure and verify dimensions of finished components using precision tools such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and gauge blocks
• Ensure equipment is properly maintained and prepared before starting each job (including wheel selection and dressing)
• Grind components to precise blueprint specifications and stock allowances
• Maintain high standards of quality, accuracy, and productivity
• Follow all safety procedures and contribute to a safe working environment
• Cross-train and operate additional equipment, including CNC machines, as needed

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1+ years of experience in surface grinding
• High school diploma or GED required
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
• Strong mechanical aptitude and basic math skills
• Experience using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, etc.)
• Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of precision grinding experience
• Experience with centerless, cylindrical, jig, surface, or contour grinding
• Familiarity with CNC equipment and machining processes
• Willingness to cross-train on different machines and processes
