Core responsibilities include plugin development with TypeScript and Node.js, integrating with CI/CD, cloud platforms, and observability tools, and establishing the Software Catalog and TechDocs. The goal is to improve developer productivity, experience, and autonomy by creating self-service capabilities and centralizing developer workflows. 


Key Responsibilities

Platform Management: Design, deploy, configure, and maintain the Backstage developer portal, ensuring its scalability, reliability, security, and performance. 

Plugin Development & Customization: Build and maintain custom plugins using TypeScript, Node.js, and React to extend Backstage functionality and integrate with internal and external tools. 

Service Catalog: Configure and maintain the Software Catalog to manage services, documentation, and infrastructure components, ensuring data consistency. 

CI/CD and Cloud Integration: Integrate Backstage with CI/CD pipelines and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) for seamless software delivery and infrastructure insights. 

Developer Experience & Automation: Develop Software Templates using the Scaffolder to standardize project bootstrapping and implement TechDocs for internal documentation. 


Programming Languages: Strong experience in TypeScript, JavaScript, and Node.js. 

Frontend Frameworks: Familiarity with React is highly desirable. 

Cloud Platforms: Experience with cloud environments like AWS, Azure, or GCP. 

DevOps Tools: Knowledge of CI/CD tools, Kubernetes, and IaC (Infrastructure as Code) tools like Terraform. 

Problem-Solving: Ability to identify developer pain points and implement effective Backstage-based solutions.
