What You'll Do:
The Quantitative Operations Associate II is an integral part of our Sanctions Screening Center of Excellence (SSCoE), playing a key role in driving forward the firm’s risk management efforts. You’ll develop quantitative models and strategies to improve the organization’s risk reporting, while collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders to ensure the smooth functioning of Bank of America’s sanctions screening efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Model Ownership: Manage and coordinate all aspects of model-related activities, including development, validation, governance, and frameworks, ensuring alignment with SSCoE standards.
- Collaboration Across Teams: Engage with Model Risk Management, Global Financial Crimes (GFC), Model Development, and other senior stakeholders to enhance model risk appetite and governance.
- Sanctions Compliance: Use advanced models for sanctions screening to review and ensure compliance with the firm’s Economic Sanctions Program across products and services.
- Policy & Strategy Development: Drive the creation of operational guidelines, strategies, and metrics related to sanctions screening for the bank’s diverse financial products.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify technological opportunities and solutions that impact the model, ensuring a cycle of continuous improvement.
What You Bring to the Table:
Experience:
- 8+ years in technical operations, quantitative financial modeling, data analytics, or related fields.
- Demonstrable experience in Model Risk Management, including developing risk frameworks, governance, and policies.
- Strong understanding of model life cycles, validations, and model governance.
Technical Skills:
- Expertise in quantitative financial modeling and data analytics.
- Proficiency in tools like SQL, Python, R, SAS, and advanced Microsoft Excel and MS Access.
- Familiarity with AI Model Governance and large data analytics.
Desired Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in physics, applied mathematics, statistics/probability, or another quantitative discipline.
- Background in Financial Crimes, Sanctions, or AML Compliance.
- Strong project management and stakeholder management experience.
Core Skills:
- Analytical thinking, data visualization, trend analysis, risk management, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
- Strong collaboration, communication, and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to manage and develop junior colleagues while working effectively within a team environment.
